What arrives

Both formats are sent together, through a secure download link, immediately after purchase.

EPUB: Reflowable text for Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, and any other reader. Type size follows your settings, and the table of contents is navigable.
PDF: Fixed layout for the desktop and for print. Page numbers match the printed editions, so a citation to a page means the same thing in either.

Watermarked, not locked

Each copy carries your name and the address it was sold to. That is the whole of the protection: there is no DRM, nothing phones home, and nothing stops you opening the files on every device you own, now or in ten years.

We watermark because a reference gets forwarded. We do not lock, because a locked reference is not a reference.

What you keep

The edition you buy stays yours. It does not expire, and it does not stop working if you never buy anything else from us.

A fixed edition also stops being current the day the law moves. That is what the Living Handbook is for, and it is a separate decision you can make later or not at all.
